In chapter five, “On Being Black” of We Have Been Believers by James Evans, the author discusses a crucial point pertaining to human nature and destiny. In particular, the primary theological questions that readers can ask themselves are, who are we and what were we created to accomplish? God created humans in His image. He gave them authority over other animals. People can make decisions, which might align or not with the teachings of Jesus Christ.
