The Mystery of the Church: Sacraments
Each reflection should be 200 words. The reflection provides the student the opportunity to address a theological issue or question raised in the assigned reading for week. It is also an opportunity for the student to substantively react to a statement made by an author or authors, or compare multiple authors on a common concept, idea, or theme. Reflection #11 The Mystery of the Church: Sacraments
In chapter five of her book Enfleshing Freedom, Copeland states that "the idolatrous practices of slavery, lynching, and white racist supremacy violate black bodies, blaspheme against God, and defame the body of Christ." I believe this statement is quite powerful and integral in helping African Americans comprehend the gravity of the evil committed to their ancestors, whose effects continue to be felt today.
