Introduction
Performance measures play an integral in quality improvement within healthcare organizations.
They also determine how clinical organizations perform in comparison with others.
Performance Measures
There are a number of performance measures that can be applied for congestive heart failure including left ventricular function (LVF) assessment, ACE inhibitor, discharge instructions, and anticoagulant at discharge for HF patients (Mazimba, et al., 2013; Bonow, et al., 2005)
The performance measures for Pneumonia include blood cultures, antibiotics timing, smoking cessation, among others (Wilson & Schünemann, 2011).
System Factors
The system factors that influence the performance of organizations include leadership, employee engagement, the commitment of management, internal resources, and culture (Mansor, Chakraborty, Yin, & Mahitapoglu, 2012).
Accreditation Standards
Accreditation standards play an instrumental role in the improvement of care process through organization of facilities and enhancement of structure (Alkhenizan & Shaw., 2011).
Evidence shows that accreditation standards boost clinical outcomes of a wide range of conditions (Alkhenizan & Shaw., 2011).
Role of Quality Manager
Quality managers serve to set up the required procedures that can help in improving performance within the organization.;
The quality manager also constantly measures the performance in the organization and identifies flaws or deviations and consequently implements corrective measures.
