Clinical decision support

Definition:
A CDS system is a computer program designed to help healthcare professionals make informed decisions based on evidence.
Purpose:
It helps healthcare professionals to make informed and evidence-based decisions

CDS systems have been used in finding the optimal solution to cancer treatment. The system considers a variety of data from studies and previous cases and HER of the patient and suggests the optimal intervention for the patient.

Definition:
Data management is the practice of collecting, keeping, and using data securely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.
Defines data as facts and statistics collected together for reference and analysis (Surkis & Read, 2015).
Purpose:
Data is crucial in creating information. Thus, data management is important to ensure that the raw material to creating information is accessible in the best possible format and uncompromised to all who need it.

Data is crucial to healthcare as it informs healthcare professionals on their course of action. It also helps build the efficacy of treatment interventions and enhances health outcomes.
