For researchers to get an adequate response rate, they must consider the type and number of questions to be asked. In particular, they should ask a few relevant questions that are focused on gathering the information they want. The type of questions should be determined by the type of research. For instance, open-ended questions are appropriate for qualitative studies, while closed-ended questions are best for quantitative research.
