This question asks you to conduct an analysis of a macro environment. First, you should define the macro environment of interest: you will find it helpful to identify the industry on which you are focusing (see Week 7 Section 1.1).
For your analysis, choose one of the two frameworks for analysing the macro environment as introduced in Week 6 (see Sections 2 and 3).
It is important to support your analysis with evidence from the Materials. Revisit Activities 6.4, 6.5, and 6.7 in Week 6 which demonstrate analyses of the macro environment. Build a narrative that discusses and evaluates the main forces of change in the macro environment.

The macro-environment comprises economic, political, technological, ethical, legal, sociological, and environmental factors. The hotel industry is part of the broader tourism industry dealing with food, lodging, theme parks, bars, hotels, restaurants, and beverage services. In simpler terms, the hotel industry is majorly concerned with food and accommodation. This paper examines the macro environment of the UK hotel industry where Whitbread Plc. Limited operates.
STEEPLE framework examines the main forces of change in the macro environment. From the Course book, STEEPLE framework is an acronym for sociological, technological, economic, environmental, political, legal, and ethical factors affecting the macro environment of a business. Sociological factors include lifestyles, demographics, and societal values. In the UK, sociological factors affecting the hotel industry include an increasingly diverse population, healthy eating and lifestyle trends, digitalization, and the pursuit of work-life balance among employees. Technological factors comprise technological revolutions and innovations.
