The film “With Fire and Sword was created in 1999 by Henryk Sienkiewicz describing the events that took place when the kingdom has passed its top position. The movie is a historical adventure with a story that compares war and peace period in Ukraine in the crown of the Kingdom of Poland during 1648. The film was directed by Jerzy Hoffman, a person who greatly influenced the theme of the movie in those days. It was produced by Syrena Entertainment Group release (in Poland) of a Zodiak Jerzy Hoffman Film Prod. The film is set up in an environment of the open battle between rebellious Cossacks of Ukraine under the Polish Commonwealth of the seventeenth century.
The significant events featured in this film include the finding o the Cossack travel by the lieutenant Yan Skshetuski in the wilderness of the steppeland and mash in December 1647. The entire movie covers the period of struggle of the Kingdom of Poland to maintain its unity in the face of Cossack-led peasant rebellion. The film has featured different characters that play different roles in passing the intended theme and providing historical events of the past period. The starred characters in the movie include Izabella Scorupco, Michal Zebrowski, Aleksandr Domogarov, Krzystof Kowaleski, Gustaw Holoubek, and Adam Ferency among many others.
The film is produced in a colored visual which indicate the modernity of film-making and improving the clarity of the pictures throughout the video. The video however used most of the traditional artifacts, tools and transportation means as applied in the ancient history of the featured community.
