Final Paper. Observation and Models. Social Sciences Lab Report

Lab Report Instructions:

Choose an observation. This should not be any observation we have discussed in the class or that is found in the text. Feel free to be creative. Generally speaking, the more serious and complex the observation, the more difficult you will find this task. On the other hand, it may be more interesting and rewarding for you. You are not graded on the choice of observation, so feel free to choose whatever you wish. You do have to create interesting models, however. Generally speaking, if your “models” are just a list of different reason for different people or for different situations, then they are not models. The problem doesn’t lie with your models, it lies with your observation. Pick a new and different observation.2. Write a sentence or two describing the observation. For example, “Lawyers are more respected than fast-food workers.”3. Imagine three different speculations about why the observation occurs. These are your three models. Make sure they are unique and not just subtle variations on each other. Write a one sentence statement of what your model is. The model should probably not directly mention the observation. To be a good model, it should be a statement about a process, it should have interesting implications, and it should be more general rather than more specific.
State two interesting implications (hypotheses) for each model. Remember to refer to Lave and March for what makes a good model. There are new concepts, also: Simplicity and Fertility. If you are not able to come up with a wide variety of implications and hypotheses, it may be because your model isn’t fertile. Remember the rules of thumb (Generality and Interesting Implications). A few sentences should suffice for each implication
Describe natural experiments that will discriminate between the models. We call any experiment that distinguishes between two models a critical experiment. So, these should be natural experiments that are also critical experiments. There need to be at least two experiments

Abstract
Teachers play vital roles in society because they assist in shaping and modelling children into responsible members of the community. They instill essential skills and knowledge that enables young people to become successful in their dream careers. That as it may, there is the observation that high school teachers in the US are highly regard in society in relation to their counterparts in kindergarten. The paper will examine the above observation and provide three speculations or rather models that support it. The first model supports the observation because high school teacher are generally paid more and better. Data will be collected through interviews of teachers in public and private institutions. The second model supports the observation because high school teachers are more learned and have additional academic certifications. Data to ascertain or disapprove the model will be collected through online research of the basic academic and high school teacher in the US. The last model supports the observation because high school teachers have an overwhelming task of helping adolescents apply the course materials into real life. Data will be gathered through an examination of the high school and kindergarten course materials
Observation and Models
Observation: High school teachers in America are highly regarded in society compared to kindergarten teachers.
Model One: High school teachers in America are paid more in relation to kindergarten teachers. The American society and as is the case in other regions around the globe relate the amount of money one is paid for their services to the significance of the profession. As such, the society believes that high school teachers are more important because they receive more money for their services.
Model Two: High school teachers usually have to acquire more or higher education to get the opportunity to teach in the institutions compared to kindergarten teachers. Some of the high school teachers have acquired masters and doctorate certifications that make them highly knowledgeable in comparison to kindergarten teachers with basic education
Model Three: High school teachers have an overwhelming task of enlightening adolescents to apply course materials into real-life experiences. They are supposed to enlighten the young individuals in their classes on ways to survive in the real world in addition to the materials in the syllabus.
Findings and Results
Model One: The first model implies that the observation that high school teachers in America are highly regarded in society compared to their counterparts in kindergarten stems from the fact that the former are paid more for their services. The data that would be collected to ascertain or dismiss the hypothesis would be through interviewing teachers both in high school and kindergarten around the region. The interviews will be inclined on identifying the salaries of teachers in both public and private institutions spread across different states in the region. The interviews will also seek to determine whether the teachers are receiving salaries that reflect the services they offer. That is, they will identify if the teachers perceive that they are being underp...
