Read "Case Study: Vignette Revisited," and the section titled, “New Information for the Case: Part 1,” from Chapter 3, Summary and Resources.
Describe the concerns you would discuss with the SVP of HR.
You realize the project is going to impact a lot of departments and people. Identify the different customers who would be logical members of the implementation team and explain why.
Think through an HR process; describe the data you would want to collect.
Describe the pros and cons of investing in computer hardware and housing the network internally or using a cloud based architecture. Why?

The biggest concern I would discuss with the SVP of HR is the use of rapid implementation technology that was utilized by a company down the street. I think this is the biggest risk the company would be taking regarding implementing the ERP system. Every organization has its unique needs, customers, goals, and direction. Using a methodology employed by a company “down the street” would a big gamble that can hinder the success of the project. It is very unlikely that the company down the street has over 4000 stores. In addition, the level of security required and the customers that would be served might also be different. In this sense, therefore, I would request the SVP to consider the needs, goals, and challenges the organization is facing before deciding on the methodology for the ERP implementation.
The project is bound to impact several departments in the organization. Therefore, the key customers include the managers that comprise the board of directors, the CEO, the president, and the SVPs. These stakeholders need to have real-time access to corr...
