My Educational, Career, Personal, and Family History
I am currently a student at the Fullerton College having completed my diploma education back in my country of residence-Kuwait in an American based study system. Having gotten an opportunity in this institution is a great opportunity to me and my family who have been very supportive in my ambitions. Currently, my parents fund my education and other related costs until I get a scholarship in my second semester.
During my time in my home country, I used to engage in community activities to support my learning process. I was a member of one of the community based programs that made soap from local materials and sold them to different consumers, a factor that raised part of the levies to my university. My parents are civil servants working with the ministries of the government and they have always been of great help in my studies. My father studied economics in one of the state institutions and is employed as an economist in the ministry of Finance in the government. On the other hand, my mother who is a social worker is a renowned figure in the community for her efforts in educating women on the essence of table banking.
My greatest area of interest has been on sociological sciences, a factor that intrigued my desire to pursue this course in the Fullerton College that has solidified my desire to major in this field. I have heard a driving force within me in understanding my society especially in determining the problems that affect the people, and through sociological studies, I believe that I may have the capacity to enter into a research inquiry and determine the problem and the solutions to those problems. During my high school education, I had a special interest on the science and the humanities, a factor that spurred my desire to major in one of these fields. Through this, I was in a position to develop several innovative products within the community that would make work simpler for the people.
Throughout my work related experiences within different areas in our country, I have encountered several people with different personalities and was able to determine how their social contexts either shape or affect them as individuals. This therefore gave me the interest to establish a better understanding on the manner in which social factors affect individuals. As part of my undergraduate work, I entered into an independent research with the aim of examining several elements in the manner in which people integrate the social factors within their relations.
