Opposing Views:

It is giving teenagers the okay to be sexually active

Despite the fact that girls on birth control pills have the advantages listen above, many parents oppose this idea due to the fact that they believe it is basically giving their children a "free pass". Their opinion is that by doing this, it is basically telling their adolescent children that it is okay to have sex. It is their belief that providing or supporting their teens to birth control pills warrants them with the idea that sexual activity is accepted and allowed.

Rebuttal to opposing view:
Some parents realize that although their teenage daughters tell them that they are not sexually active, that may not be the truth. They believe that if they are going to be sexually active, there is nothing that they realistically can do about it. Parents would rather be safe than sorry in regards to teenage pregnancy.

It is better to be safe than sorry regarding the support of teenage daughter on the pill. the pill is a preventative measure and clear communication is still required between parent and child for optimal efficiency.

PARA 5

Conclusion:

restate thesis and the claim, opposing view as well as the rebuttal.

Restate my position on the issue (I am for putting girls on birth control)

Introduction
Despite remaining the highest among the developed countries in the world, the rate of teenage pregnancies is today in over forty years at its lowest level in the United States. According to Kost and Henshaw (2012), approximately 67.8 per every a thousand women that are aged 15-19 years become pregnant every year. This is approximately 750,000 American teenagers and the majority fo them are unintended (PPFA 1). Despite the prevalent assumption the allowing teenage girls to use birth control is sexual acceptance by their parents, there are many advantages to parents supporting their teenage daughters on birth control pills. Due to the advantages, parents should allow their teenage girls should be allowed to use birth control pills.
Background
It is highly unlikely that any parent wants her teenage son or daughter to be sexually active, and most of the parents hope not to provide birth control pills to the sexually active teenager (Steinke). However, arguments originating from different quarters indicate that even though birth control is proven as a means of STDs and pregnancies prevention the moral and ethical implications of encouraging a teenager to use such pills is compelling. This belief originates from years of years of being brainwashed by the pharmaceutical industry hence victims of misinformation (Hotze Health & Wellness Center 1).

The birth rates for teenagers that were aged between 15 – 17 years was 17.3% in the same year (Hamilton and Ventura 2). Moreover, the rate of pregnancy for teens aged between 18-19 years was 58.3% with the number of babies born among teenagers aged between 15-19 years being 367,752 (Hamilton and Ventura 2). While these values represent a significant decline in teenage pregnancies and birth rates for the united states, these rates are significantly high compared to other industrialized countri...
