In the book "On Writing Well", one of the constant struggle for writers, as pointed out by Zinsser, is to present their ideas in simplicity. "Simplicity" is also the title of the essay, a most befitting way of sharing his notion. Willian Zinsser identifies clutter as the central problem in writing, stating that it makes writers use methods or words that usually directs them away from their original point. According to Zinsser, clutter is the main reason and number one obstacle that stands in the way of American writers and their struggle in producing an understandable and interesting literary work.
