Name: Instructor: Course: Date: A Report to an Academy by Kafka The short story by Franz Kafka is one that relates to the ape Red Peter, who has undergone a transformation to behave like a human. These are no transformations that Red chooses, rather they were imposed on him. What is more, is the fact that, the transformation has not all been a smooth transition as it has been characterized by torturous events and painful moment that have shaped its life. There are humans hunting in his habitat and he is shot twice, on the cheek and on the thigh. The wound on the thigh is quite deep and painful. After being captured, it finds itself on a ship and on the way to Europe. At the same time, there is a strong reflection of the experiences that most of the minority races have had at the hands of the white supremacists. It is quite interesting that the author is trying to bring out an aspect in the society that is quite rife and one that creates some very horrible experiences. African Americans and the slaves across Europe also experienced such mistreatments. They were treated like animals, beaten, captured, chained and forcefully trained on the foreign etiquettes. They were considered uncivilized and inferior to the whites. This is a story that can closely be associated with the fact that, for most of the minorities, the experiences of getting assimilated into the western cultures is one that resembles the treatment that animals...
