Poetry has been used to express different aspects and elements in the society. Poets use figures of speech and figurative language in order to pass a message to the intended audience. This paper seeks to detail how two poems: "First Poem for You" and "A Red, Red Rose" by Kim Addonizio and Robert Burns respectively, reflect my current attitude about love. The paper will also include two quotes that stand out for me in the two poems.
I perceive love as a simile to many beautiful features under the sun. The God`s creation was done with love and everything turned out so beautiful. My attitude about love basically matches the creatures of God in the world. It is through a comparison of the beautiful things that I derive my perception and impression of love.
