Children Of Single Mothers Are Not Always Broken.
Family traditions have indeed changed in the past few decades. Raising a child in a surrounding of both parents meets the criteria of a traditional family. It is important for a child to grow up in such an environment since it will aid in their development. However, the rate of divorce has increased tremendously and this has led to the prevalence of single parenthood. When children grow up in a family where they witness conflict between their parents, it triggers their perception and makes them dislike or even miss the essence of family. This also makes it difficult for the child to associate with other children since they fear that they will not be accepted in such an environment or be regarded as an insecure child. However, divorce is not the only reason why there are single parents. Some are single due to the passing on of their partner or due to circumstantial reasons such as early pregnancies or because they choose to. They grow up with societal labels and therefore grow up fighting rhetoric narratives propagated in the society. They strive to do their best to battle what the public thinks of them. For some teenagers, especially those who knew their fathers while they were growing up, become affected academically because of battling notions bestowed upon them. The feeling of being rejected or being unwanted simply because one is raised by a single mother can indeed affect one’s class performance. However, this does not deter them to drop school but rather motivates them to better themselves in order to prove the society wrong. These children are pushed by their mothers as well as circumstances to fill the void left by the father (Briley, 2017). This not only strengthens their relationship but also enables both of them to live as a team and learn how to handle reproach by the society. As a result, the public gets tired of making it an issue and everybody notices the intelligent and competent individual they b...
