Children develop better when they identify with something in their lives. The first influencers of children are their caretakers who are mostly parents. They learn through direct observation of behavior and experience. Religious and traditional cultural events are good opportunities to impart values, dressing, food, and good morals. Participation in these events enables them to learn of their identity and teaches them that parents and the community values them.
Spiritual development and diversity
Immersing children in religious and cultural traditions enable children to appreciate their heritage. For instance, when children celebrate their history through games and crafts or filling out their family tree, it enables them learn about their culture or maintain religious identity. Besides learning their own culture, it is important to learn the culture of others to learn to appreciate others and tolerate neighbors and development. When parents expose their children at an early age it assists them tolerate and appreciate cultural difference as it will assist them navigate the complex world CITATION RRe02 \l 1033 (R. Trauma on Child Development
Trauma can affect child development in many areas such as in attachment and relationships, body and brain development, emotional response, cognition, behavior, and associations. Trauma causes constant fear on children or extreme stress. Due to this stress, the immune system does not develop normally. In any environment, stress can impair development of the nervous system and the brain. This environment limits brain development to its full. Once they grow to teenage level, as traumatized youth their body can suffer from dysregulation due to over-responding or under responding CITATION Nat15 \l 1033 (National Child Traumatic Stress Network, 2015).
