Retrospective analysis of personality
Name:
Institution:
Aspects of my life that have changed over time and those that have remained consistent
Over the past years, a lot has changed in my personality. One aspect that has remained constant for long is my height. Since I was eighteen-years-old, my height has always remained constant. On the contrary, my weight keeps increasing every few months. While eighteen years old my weight was 40 kilograms but right now I weigh around 80 kilograms. My skin color amazes me most because since I was young I have remained dark. Despite the body lotions that I use to enhance my skin, my skin has become soft but retained the dark color.
I have realized that my eloquence has continued to improve from time to time. I remember when I was a teenager I could not argue in public debates but currently, I am very eloquent and a great debater. At the moment, I speak fluently in English and other local languages due to mastery of vocabulary for different languages. I have also become very accommodative to diverse culture and views. In my teenage I could not withstand people with different ideas from mine; instead I considered them to be wrong. Furthermore, I used to consider other people's culture and race as strange and didn't want to associate with them. However, currently I openly associate with individuals with divergent opinions and give them the opportunity to speak out their mind. I have learnt to appreciate the unique culture of others and I often attend their functions when invited.
Since my young age I have realized that I am emotionally stable, I never lose my temper quickly as I observe in other people. Even when physically and emotionally assaulted by friends and other persons I meet, I rarely lose my temper. That has helped me to avoid indulging in unnecessary fights in public. My curiosity, on the other hand, has continued to decline. In my young age, I was very curious and wanted to try out on every new thing I came across. However, currently I ignore most of the new developments coming up; I seem to have lost interest in experimenting with new things.
Roles of nature and nurture in shaping my personality based on retrospective analysis
Nature refers to genetic inheritance while nurture implies influence from the surrounding environment and experience one gets by interacting with life situations. Regarding height, epigenetics seem to have taken control. I have remained short since my young age probably because I inherited the genes for height from my father who is also short like me. Concerning my weight, I think nurture has contributed a lot. My parents are thin while I am fat because of the fatty foods I consume on a daily basis. Therefore, the environment is responsible for my ever increasing weight. Concerning my skin color, I have remained dark since my young age because of the epigenetics I inherited from my parents. Both my parents are dark in skin complexion, and I seem to have inherited their melanin pigment epigenetics.
Concerning my eloquence, nurture appears to have played a significant role. My exposure to educated people who speak with fluency has shaped my English vocabulary and helped me to be an eloquent speaker. Furthermore, the school learning environme...
