Introduction
Criminal activities in the 21st century haverisen alarmingly. The criminals and nature of crime committed have evolved and more technology is being involved in facilitating smart crimes and getting away with them. However, males have been involved in more crimes across the globe compared to the females. This fact is strongly supported by various factors that have been researched and finding proven below.
Self-control
Humans with low levels of self-control are more likely to commit a crime. According to Burton et.al “general theory of crimeâ€Β low levels of self-control are correlated to high levels of individuals being involved in criminal activities CITATION bur13 \l 1033 (Velmer, Francis, & David, 2013). However, according to the research, criminal activities are more ubiquitous to male likened to females. This reveals that in one week more male individuals attended recreational activities where males have high opportunities of illegitimate behavior and therefore speculating that more females were constrained from the avenue of crime. The notion of more females being restricted to their environment also got a greater influence because some of the males were involved in crime as a result of influence from other factors such alcohol and drugs abuse. Due to the influence of drug, males have been involved in many serious offenses that resulted in death. Males are therefore involved in many unlawful activities in the society more than ladies.
Age onset delinquency
Males and females’ onset at their tender age has strongly influenced the character of humans. The research says that childhood onset delinquency as a result of the neurocognitive problem, lack of parenting and behavior has a ratio of male to female under this condition as10:1. The adolescent-onset delinquency was higher compared to the latter exhibiting a ratio of male to female as 15:1. According to the ratios given above it shows that males have a higher likelihood of being involved in crime compared to female CITATION Ros14 \l 1033 (Gartner & McCathy, 2014). At puberty, kids practice dysphoria which conflicts between biological development and responsibilities. The research indicates that girls less influenced by anxious organism dysfunction compared to boys. These triggers boys’ behaviors hence they suffer from dysphoria during biological development and assumption of roles and privileges.
