There are several deficiencies which are affecting the coca cola industry in India that the regional manager should focus on. First, it is the maintenance of the Coca-Cola brand name fame within the Indian region. Having identified that the Pepsi Company had already established itself in the Indian region, it has led to the drop in the demand for the Coca-Cola products. The regional president, Gupta, should then focus on reestablishing the products productivity and maintain it in the region. Another problem is that Gupta should observe the adherence to the social, economic and environmental regulations as demanded by the center for science and environment. The predicaments by the Indian regulatory environment should be put in place and observed by the Coca-Cola Company in India. The myths being alleged to the Coca-Cola Company should be cleared so that the industry obtains back its trust to the community. These are some of the basic problems the regional president in India, Gupta, should focus.
Evaluation of the crisis
The crisis for the Coca-Cola Company in India began when it was asked to provide the Indian government with the procedure or the recipe and ingredients it uses in the coca cola products production failure to that it will have to quit the Indian market. Coca-cola decided to leave the market in 1977 until it made its comeback in the year 1993 after 16 years of disappearance. By the time it came back Pepsi had already established itself in the Indian beverages market. The real speculations and doubts of the company began when cases of impunity and unhealthy coca cola products began being realized around the world like for the case in France and Belgium. The cases caused controversies worldwide concerning coca cola. For the justification of the Coke woes in India, the center for science and environment released a report, in the year 2003, which indicated pesticides traces within the water packed by the Kinley Bottled water, Cola water branch in India.
