"Guns Germs and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies" by Jarocl Diamond is a New York Times bestselling book that has won a Pulitzer Prize. Some individuals highly praise it for explaining how Europeans were able to colonize the world without invoking racial superiority. Instead, the book looks at how geography impacted human history and facilitated European imperialism. However, the book is also highly criticized by scholars as overly simplistic and a reiteration of environmental determinism.
For this project, you are asked to write a paper discussing the ideas put forth by Jarod Diamond in "Guns Germs and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies" from a critical perspective. To accomplish this, you will need first to watch the three-part documentary series, linked below:

Introduction
In the book, “Guns, Germs, and Steel: Fates of Human Societies,” Jared Diamonds hopes to address the main issues concerning the power of world geography which will help in shaping the human social organization. In his writing, Diamond applies both politically and scholarly arguments to be able to address the issues of social organization to human societies. He starts by explaining to the readers on the climate types, the layout of various world continents, and the available resources in different continents (McNeill165). By interjecting the interdisciplinary and geographical framework by the use of scientific techniques in the whole study of human societies. He politically tries to undo the issue of racist frameworks to help his society’s colleagues have a clear understanding of the contemporary dynamic forces and the whole course of human society and history. Diamond tries to give answers to many rhetorical questions within the modern societies concerning the issue of human social organization.
The major idea from Jarod's writing is closely tied with the material factors. The presence of guns and steel has positively influence d the growth of European countries. According to the history of social formations, Europeans made an excellent case that explains the causality of their growth. The presence of the guns and steel in their geographical locations stood as an ultimate factor that helped them to develop and formation of strong political ideologies. The growth in economic development and power were some of the benefits from gun and steel which helped the European countries to become the main dominant in colonialism (Eskezia 63). They turned to attain the special virtues of Indi dualism which indicated how economically strong they have become and the power they have to rule over the whole world. Diamond attributes the geography by arguing that there is a direct and causal relationship between human beings and the location they are in. in other words, he claims that the growth and success of the European in colonialism were impacted by the content history, technology, and politics which was a result of geography. The author gives reasons why the Europeans were not able to move on the tropical areas of Africa as the cold humid climate which they were not used to and which will affect them to death.
The author agrees on the power of geography which in history has been used to shape human societies. His demonstrations on the causal relationship on the reverse engineering methodologies give an actual historical process. He provides answers on the contemporary wealth and power which has made the European countries famous, identifiable, and dominant well in colonialism (Allen 231).
