According to Scott, the LPC programs are up to the standards and rules and regulations laid by the state of Arizona. Such a program should consist of a minimum of 240 hours of direct client contact and needs to meet the practicum requirements. Scott may be required to work at least one hour at his site to come up with the expectations of his clients. It is important for him to work hard and manage his time, so that is counseling related coursework is completed without any issues (Maras, 2016).

In a healthcare center, “too much” work means spending more time with patients and doing everything that is within the range of a counselor. While working with others, I might have to spend more hours in the hospital and pay more attention to patients than ever, but it does not mean I should ignore self-care (Engelkamp et al., 2014).
