.A child that loses a close family member perhaps a parent or any close relative during an accident. Counsel the guardians of the child to always make sure that they are rarely separated from the child the child should also be comforted using hugs and kisses and a constant reminder that they are safe. They also deserve an explanation where the guardian should explain that death is part of life. The explanation should also be done is a simple and gentle tone with the provision if comfort toys to the child. The kid also needs to be frequently talked to make sure that he/she is positively coping with the death. Failure to do so the death might affect the child even in adulthood especially if it were one of his/her parents. Grade school age These children are still learning how to cope with death and they might be confused by it. their responses include looking for the deceased individual, blaming themselves for the death, becoming easily distracted, anxiety, they may often complain of physical pain for instance stomach aches, clinginess- that is wanting to be close to others, feeling embarrassed, having dreams about the dead person which may be nightmares if they were witnesses to the death and most commonly changes in their eating habits. A child loses his/her grandparent with whom they were very close. Cause of death maybe health complications at old age. Here the children may think that death is temporary and may constantly keep on asking about the whereabouts of the individual. Explain death to them is necessary for them to understand it is temporary. They should be allowed to ask questions about death where honest answers are provided, frequently reassuring them of their safety, provide them with something to remember the loss for instance planning the funeral, keep normal routines going on as much as possible, encourage them to play with friends and use a soft and tender voice when explaining things to the child in question. They should also be provided with comfort toys and minimum separation from them.
