Our ancestors have used traditional medicine to treat diseases and the individual's spiritual well-being. Some countries that practice this up to the present are in China and India, using the Traditional Chinese Medicine and Traditional Indian Medicine or Ayurveda, respectively. This paper shall compare and contrast these two.
Both practices share many commonalities, such as focusing on the patient, and their primary goal is to improve the health and quality of life of their patients via a holistic approach. Both also utilize herbal medicine, and they share a philosophy that human beings are the center of the world, with the earthly and celestial elements as the accessory factors (Patwardhan et al., 2005).
