Using a self-directed behavior strategy offers three advantages over a teacher-directed behavior approach. Notably, the self-directed behaviors strategy provides immediate feedback for students, enabling them to assess their performance and make necessary adjustments in real time. Instead of relying solely on a teacher's evaluation, students can gauge their progress, identify areas for improvement, and develop a sense of ownership over their learning process. In addition, a self-directed behavior strategy encourages student responsibility by placing the onus on them to set goals, manage their time, and make decisions about their learning.
