Unit 4 Discussion Screening and Assessment
In most instances, different people have varying behaviors. Even though some behaviors could be inbuilt, the majority of the behaviors are usually a result of external factors. One common factor that influences individual behavior is discriminative stimuli. Discriminative stimulus (Sd) is a condition where stimuli provide a response that is more frequent and resistant to extinction (Li, 2022). Even though I have varying instances regarding discriminative stimuli, one of the most recent and persistent is how I perform in the workplace. For instance, in most instances, I am usually relaxed in the workplace and do not rush to finish my work since the manager is usually absent. However, when the manager is present, I usually work fast than the previous days. This instance has surprised me with what usually influences this behavior. However, I have recently discovered that the manager's presence acts as an Sd, which controls my working pattern.
