Navigating Gender Identity in Adolescence For many, adolescence is a time of self-exploration and identity formation. As a human service professional, you may have clients who identify with a variety of sexual orientations and/or gender identities. It is important to create a safe space where clients feel free to explore who they are while getting the support that they need. Be sure you have watched the videos from this unit's readings. Please respond to the following: Discuss three challenges that were highlighted by the youth in the videos. Identify an intervention for one of the challenges that you listed above. What ethical concerns might arise when working with a LGBTQIA+ adolescent? How could you create a safe space for an adolescent coming to talk with you about their gender identity and/or sexual orientation?
