Nike employs a wide range of job expansion strategies. First, the company has incorporated automation and robotization in its production chain as one way of enhancing job expansion. With an increase in robotization in the product development chain of Nike, employees have to be now trained in operating and maintaining such processes. As a result of automation and robotization, training is required in executing certain activities and communication skills to ensure that the rest of the team members are briefed on the processes (Altenburg et al., 2020). Therefore, more responsible roles are added to some of the employees in the process.
Another job expansion strategy employed by Nike is encouraging job rotation between its employees.
