Oral sensory
My initial development stages as elaborated by Erik Erikson’s Stages of Man started at birth with the growth of oral sensory. This entailed the self-realization to environmental awareness in the sense that I started gaining the hearing senses and development of a close relationship with my parents (from birth to 18months). Importantly, there was a development to my mother given the case that she mostly fed me. Evidence to develop such reasoning originates from the fact that there was a close connection to the care giver (Erikson, 1964). On the same case, there is a need to point that at the same point, there was the distinction between trust and mistrust. The mistrust developed in the case that there was no close connection to the other people that did not feed me.
Muscular, anal stages and rectal sphincter control
The other personal development that is important discussion is the growth of muscular and anal stages. Importantly, there was the segment of development that progressed in the case that I started the toilet training process. Subsequently, there was the development of autonomy in physical skills in the case that there was the development of other skills such as rectal sphincter control. Importantly, there was the balance between the physical skills and the adoption from shame. Another significant development started in the years between 3 to 6 years in the case that I developed personal initiatives. Such a period was the preschool years where I engaged in the social interactions and the balance of a sense of guilt and willingness to work with others. On the same note, there was the development of personal ego and the desire to exhibit unique abilities to lead other people. A point to note, the interaction with other people emerged from the direct interaction with the school environment (Erikson & Coles, 2000). The other important element of discussion that played a significant role in my personal development included the latency stage. During the period, I developed a higher level of concentration in my studies.
