Before the interview, I felt ready, composed, and confident, yet nervous, anxious, and tense before the interview. I had taken considerable time preparing for this big day, and I could not understand the fear and tension that was crippling in my head. However, I was determined to get through with it since I had prepared adequately. The thorough preparation I had taken saw that I answered every question well, to the best of my knowledge, and that I confidently approached unfamiliar questions. The practice also allowed me to work on my posture, plan my dress and appearance, and portray etiquette in non-verbal communication, such as using my hands appropriately. One thing that I did before the interview was to research more about the company, including its mission, values, and history. Doing this enabled me to adequately answer all the questions about the company (Indeed, 2023). I also did background research about my interviewees, which helped me find common ground with them and slightly addressed my tension. Additionally, in preparation for the interview, I conducted a practice interview with one of my friends who had attended several professional interviews, which helped me improve my confidence and boost my performance. Finally, I chose the best official outfit and ensured it was well-ironed and pressed before D-day.
My tension and nervousness elevated during the interview, though I tried my best to refrain from showing it to my interviewer. I was nervous for the best part of the interview process, making me answer questions quickly without giving them considerable time.
