One thing I have learned in my short life is that being cynical and pessimistic is never the right attitude. Therefore, every day, I wake up and decide to smile and remain happy regardless of what lies ahead. Developing an optimistic attitude is not easy and I haves had to work on mine for quite some time. As a young person and one who is still in school, there are a lot of things (family, school work, and social life) that can make one adopt a negative and pessimistic attitude. Family is indeed the bedrock of every person and here is where we develop and adopt our very first values of life. My optimistic attitude and take towards life and its challenges mainly comes from home and the principles and values inculcated in me by my parents. While I was growing up, life was tough but somehow my parents always managed to smile and laugh with each other and with us. Regardless of whether things were good financially or not they always found a reason to smile and approach life positively. This attitude towards life was passed down to us and I have learnt to always stay positive no matter where I am or what challenge lies ahead of me.
Being curious is at times cast in bad light. However, I have come to discover that one can never learn anything new if they are not curious. Ever since I made this discovery, I endeavored to always ask whenever something was not clear and to also take an interest in new things. I read various blogs, follow certain individuals I consider my mentors, and also read books on various topics including technology. I discovered the meaning of being in an information age and therefore, I strive to be an active participant of this said era. My desire in knowing new things is at times annoying because I ask a lot of questions but I discovered that most people stay quiet because they are afraid and not because they know.
