Interdisciplinary study is becoming widely accepted approach that brings together different disciplines that capture the multi-layered problems of the global environmental relations to human behavior. However, using this approach can be difficult at times. Moving forward with interdisciplinary approaches, researchers need to develop new ways of thinking and appropriate methodologies that can be used to implement the new knowledge that is being generated from the studies. This paper will discuss an interdisciplinary study in relation to the complex global environmental issues.
Einstein was right when he said that "The problems we have created in the world today will not be solved by the level of thinking that created them," (Einstein). A new approach is needed to solve these problems. The world is in a rapid change where we are experiencing climatic changes, widening of the ozone layer and deforestation continues to increase at high rate. These are some of the environmental issues that are impacting the lives of people today. In order to understand the underlying causes of these problems and provide recommendations on how they can be tackled and managed to provide a safe environment for all human beings, research has to be fully utilized.
