Introduction
The knowledge of electricity and magnetism has contributed to a lot of industrial growth and innovation in a number of industries. The transport industry is one area that has greatly benefited from the inventions and innovations in the field of electricity and magnetism. According to Fox News (2013), continued research, especially in the field of electricity and magnetism presents a brighter future for a more convenient transport system throughout the world. Getting to workplace on time, visiting hinterlands or taking a holiday trip into the park with family members would become much easier in the future due to technological advancement in the transport industry. Militaries, security agencies, governments will all benefit a great deal from new transport systems earmarked for the future due to revolutionary knowledge of transport and technology. In the past few decades, spin transport and magnetism research has led to significant technological and scientific breakthroughs, including the giant magneto resistance (GMR) discovery in the magnetic metallic multiplayer (Tsymbal & Zutic, 20111). This paper looks at how electricity and magnetism are going to continue to change the future transportation system in the world and beyond.
Expected changes in the transport industry
There are a number of ways in which the transport industry will change by applying the technology of electricity and magnetism, and these include smart cars that self-drive in predetermine lanes, there will be hyper loops, flying cars, sophisticated spaceports and space ships, unique electric trains, supersonic space jets, Super marine ships, urban transports pod among others. Hyperloop trains will use magnetic rail systems and move at a speed of 800 miles an hour (Fox News, 2013).
Hyperloop
One most exciting innovation in the transport system is the Hyperloop train which will use airless tubes and move at 800 miles per hour can transport passengers from Los Angeles to San Francisco within only 30 minutes (Fox News, 2013). The Hyperloop Transports Technologies Incorporation confirms that they are in the conceptual design of the technology that applies the knowledge of electricity and magnetism. One advantage of using Hyperloop transport technology is that it would be more convenient, cheaper, much faster and quieter as compared to the maglev train.
Maglev Trains
Another way through which electricity and magnetism technology will change transports is the establishment of the maglev trains. These are the magnetic levitation trains whose ideas were conceived right in the 1950 s, and are already currently operating in places like Shanghai and Japan (Fox News, 2013). South Korea is also currently building a maglev train to operate within the Incheon airport. China has been reported to be developing another maglev train currently. Maglev trains use the technology of electricity and magnetism in which a magnetic force is applied to lift and propel the train just by the minimal energy amount when compared to electric or diesel powered trains.
