Behavior Modification Techniques (BMTs)
There are several BMTs that are used in the field of conservation to protect and improve the lives of animals in the wild. These include Positive Reinforcement Training (PRT), captive breeding and reintroduction, and aversive conditioning. The essay will discuss PRT as an example of BMTs.
PRT is usually preferred by behaviorists since it does not cause harm to animals. It is used to encourage behavior change in animals by rewarding them once they exhibit the desired or targeted behavior (Brando & Norman, 2023). Currently, it is being used in animal conservation in several ways.
