The news video publicizes the Roswell Police Department's use of a 3-D scanner that allows law enforcers to snap a photo of a crime scene and transform it into a 3-D model. Detectives say they can fly through the scene. In using the 3-D scanner, an officer needs to put the scanner on, put it on the distance they want to scan, and technology does the rest. The data captured is uploaded to computers, and a 3-D panoramic picture would appear. The technology would allow detectives to manipulate the image, zoom in and out to understand the details of the scene, and even mark specific measurements and evidence. The 3-D scanners would allow the Roswell police to map crime scenes using graphical representation to understand what they comprise, allowing investigators, lawyers, jurors, and judges
