Neoconservatives have established several organizations with an aim of increasing the role of religion in public policy. Some of the most powerful organization that were founded from 1970’s includes the Institute for Religion and Democracy, Ethics and Public Policy Center and Institute on Religion and Public Life (Rightweb, 2012). The aim of establishing the institutes was to increase the role of religion in policy development, and to try to refrain from the influence of secularism. Additionally, these institutes play a great role in protecting the Western ethical imperatives such as respect for the dignity of the people, justice, individual freedom and responsibility, development of a limited government and the ruling of the law (Rightweb, 2012).
By observing the extent by which religion and spirituality practices have been on the forefront in promoting civil society, it is paramount for religion to take priority in policy making.
