In Christianity, the imago dei, which is Latin for "the image of God," refers to the unique imprint God placed upon humanity, identifying people as a special creation (Religious Facts, 2015). In Catholicism, healthcare is intended to promote and protect the human quality of life. Healthcare is designed to respect the holiness of every human life from birth to the time of death. We believe that everyone despite their walks of life deserves proper life development and adequate healthcare. All fundamental rights of individuals must be protected. Everyone, the poor, uninsured, and underinsured, receives basic healthcare and the promotion of good health practices. All procedures performed are morally accepted and supported by the teachings of the church; those that are morally wrong, for instance, birth control and abortion are not.
