The role of Patient Advocacy and Patient Safety
The regulatory agencies play a major role in ensuring that patient advocacy and security is maintained. The nursing fraternity plays an important part in the state in ensuring that patient receives the right and quality Medicare that they seek from the different health facilities available in the state. Patient safety is essential and mandatory in the health institutions. The regulatory bodies act as controllers who have set up the minimum standards that are supposed to be observed by the hospitals (Earp, French, & Gilkey, 2008). In this way, patients are guaranteed of their safety and proper medication whenever the need arises. On the other hand, the regulatory bodies ensure that patients are supported whenever they fall sick. This is done through different programs that patients are encouraged to join when they are stable to support them whenever it becomes difficult for them to offset the high hospital bills.
