Policies on Communicable Diseases
Communicable diseases become a threat to society as the disease spreads from one person to another. The illness becomes caused by infections and other diseases possibly erupting from the same condition. Some policies apply to infectious diseases that help keep communities healthy, especially healthcare workers and patients, to develop healthcare assurance trends to ensure that patients get protected from contagious diseases.
Since the Coronavirus hit the more significant part of the world, many organizations and especially the World Health Organization (WHO), established various ways to ensure that the disease would not spread much longer and beyond control. Covid-19 became discovered to become an infectious disease that had to become controlled by all means possible through policies and quality assurance. In most cases, procedures include disease control and prevention measures that impact protecting the infection from spreading across people, rapidly causing a pandemic (Plaisance,2018). Infectious diseases have crucial applicable policies that have to apply at all times. Policies have to go in line with the objectives, purpose, scope, policy, and procedures to become followed. These policies may include; availability of protective gear and equipment, and efficient communication network between healthcare organizations and the people, periodic data evaluation regarding the disease, and record-keeping of the confidential illness documentation and guidelines when handling patients and when relating with other people in the outside world.
The above policies play a significant role in ensuring people are safe and that the disease does not spread extensively and beyond control. For instance, during the COVID-19 pandemic, several measures and policies had to apply to contain the virus's situation, which was highly infectious from spreading more and beyond control.
