Nursing and research processes have some similarities and differences. Although all follow some sequence in their methodology, the differences between them are evident.
The similarity between nursing and research processes are many. First, they are all processes (Burns, 1989). The research process involves several steps towards problem solving which are problem formulation, making hypotheses and objectives, data collection, data analysis, interpretation and recommendation. The nursing process involves assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Both processes require gathering of data, evaluation, and assessment: all which follow logical steps.
