There are similarities between the GCU and AACN in that both emphasizes on critical thinking. Both argue that they prepare students to use critical thinking in order to help them in their work force. The GCU argues that critical thinkers endeavors in mastering clarity and develop logical thoughts. This is achieved through asking of questions and through pursuance of knowledge in order to avoid not only delusion but also blindly acceptance of ideas (GCU, 2015). This will help people to work towards solving their problems rather than dwelling on them, this helps to reduce their vulnerability. The same is reflected by AACN that expects its students to possess strong decision making and ability to thinking critically (AACN, 2015).
The two also has a similarity in that they focus on Christian heritage. The GCU states that “the academic offered has values-based curriculum for the context of our Christian heritage” (GCU, 2015). The AACN also affirms that it is imperative for nurses to respect the patient religious believes as they attend the patient.
Effective communication is another similarity that is emphasized by the two. Effective communication among the students is key, since it enhances them to think critically. The GCU points that it teachers its students words that impacts both emotionally and mentally. These words instill courage in the student such that he is able to learn different means of communication (GCU, 2015). The AACN also affirms that the ability to communicate both in writing and orally is essential since it transmits the desired outcome to these processes (AACN, 2015).
