Response to Katrinka Rosado’s posting
Katrinka is spot on in her posting when she states that conflict resolution has to be looked at as a basis for every organization to reach its goal and grow through lessons learned and being committed to what is best for the organization itself. In fact, conflict situations are a vital facet of the workplace and conflicts are not necessarily bad since conflict situations present opportunities for improvement (Iglesias & Vallejo, 2012). A suitable way of resolving the conflict between Lydia and other nursing staffs in the unit, as Katrinka has properly stated in her posting, is for Lydia to have a meeting with all the staff members and have an honest and open eye-to-eye communication and talk about all the issues openly. One incorrect assertion made by Katrinka in the posting is that confrontation is the technique which is most beneficial when handling and resolving conflicts. Is confrontation really the most beneficial technique when handling and resolving conflicts? I do not think so. The best conflict resolution strategy entails collaboration in which the conflicting parties cooperate with each other in order to comprehend their concerns and each party to express their concerns so as to find a totally and mutually satisfactory solution; a win-win solution (Iglesias & Vallejo, 2...
