Introduction
Generally, pregnant women are considered to have low risk of falling either n the cause of their pregnancy or during their stay in hospital during the delivery period. However, recent statics have shown that cases of pregnant women falling are on the increase hence the need to develop fall prevention programs.
Cause Factors
There are several factors that predispose pregnant women to falls. One of them is labor pains just before delivery. The traumatic pain that pregnant women go through prior to child birth can sometimes lead to a serious fall that could result to an injury. Secondly, the pregnancy in itself can lead to falls. Sometimes, pregnant women feel weak and dizzy which could lead to a fall. Other factors include conditions of the heart that are common among pregnant women (Kee & McCuistion, 2015).
