The mid-range theory of advancing technology, caring and nursing can be successfully employed to tackle this challenge. This article aims to show how a borrowed theory of Technological Competency as Caring in Nursing can be used to improve implementation of new medical advancements for better health care provision.
Theory of Technological Competency as Caring in Nursing
Combined knowledge generated from different disciplines enables nurses to provide competent services and craft firm and informative actualities from the nursing occupation (Theofanidis & Fountouki, 2008). Nursing has many correspondences with related disciplines and an assorted set of professional problems (Theofanidis & Fountouki, 2008). Modern technology has led to dehumanization by the use of machines as well as the objectification of patients and nursing care. Technology is an aspect that nurses must work with and around it by making it compatible and supportive in nursing care.
