A comparison of Fiedler's model of leadership and path-goal theory shows some similarities and differences. Fiedler's model of leadership is similar to path-goal model in the sense that; both models point to the effect that leadership concerns more of the people being led. Northouse (2003) observe that; leadership is about influence of the leader to the subordinates. The aspects of a leader must always be analyzed in view of the effect to the people being led. Both models also deliberate on flexibility of leadership, although they take different orientations. Weiskittel (1999) note that; that the aspect of flexibility in leadership is paramount for the development of the organization.
