Biological farming is increasingly preferred to improve food nutrition content, unlike farming that relies on fertilizers where the single crops dominate (Kawabe, 2013). Additionally, balancing farming methods enhance the soil with lower exposure to chemicals likely to affect the long-term productivity of the farms. By increasing the organic matter content in the soils the biological farming techniques are crucial to enhancing minerals balancing. The nutrition dense foods associated with biological farming are more pest resistance unlike conventional farming that requires continuous use of pest control chemicals. In any case, biological farming builds healthy soils, where there is a need to restore the soil’s ecosystem.
Consumers may require lower portions of vegetables to meet the recommended servings when consuming vegetables grown through biological farming methods. Such vegetables also have higher content of antioxidant compounds that is associated with better health. The consumption of food grown through biological farming methods is beneficial to consumers, since the source is nutrient dense. Even as there has been growing interest in biological farming, there is no guarantee that the nutrition and quality is higher. This is because the biological arming technique used affects the nutrient levels in the soil, which in turn influences the food nutritional content.  Use of green mature, supporting crop diversity and soil management are necessary to improve the nutrient content of crops (Zaller & Köpke, 2004). To maintain the overall diversity biological farming methods are necessary, especially when the farmers use technology to address ecological factors. Regardless of the biological farming approach used, there is a need to rely on evidence base when making decisions about the most effective strategies (Stockdale & Watson, 2009). Soil management is a top priority since there is emphasis on replacing nutrients, where the natural production of nutrients during the growing season.
