1 The Nursing process involves 5 steps that nurses and other medical professionals need to remember when treating patients. The process utilizes the acronym ADPEI. This enables nurses to remember the process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of the individual patient CITATION Hye10 \l 1033 (Park, 2010). Health education is important as it equips the nurse as a medical professional with the necessary tools for treating patients and pro-actively managing symptoms where they occur. A key strategy within the nursing process is the provision of client-centered treatment. The patient as the client is the focus of the medical treatment plan as developed by the nurse and other medical professionals.
2 Social cognitive theory as an educational and health promotional theory plays a major role in care delivery. The theory notes that humans acquire knowledge by the replication of observed experiences depending on whether the action generated a reward or punishment. The theory is applicable in nursing where student nurses will learn about nurses by observing the actions of senior staff. Through such, they learn vicariously. They therefore learn complex issues such as ethics and integrity from their observations of other staff. These experiences provide a more robust learning model compared to rote classroom education. It can be utilized to great effect by utilizing the environment as a pseudo-laboratory for teaching learners CITATION Ban01 \l 1033 (Bandura, 2001).
3 There are different types of barriers to learning. These include; Social and cultural barriers; Practical and personal barriers and emotional barriers. For effective learning to occur it is important that as educators and professionals we determine ameliorative measures to put in place. Social and cultural factors can be confronted by dissecting their fundamentals. The family background can be analyzed with the learner. This would allow the learner to understand the dynamics of these barriers and become involved in disengaging themselves. Personal barriers would be dissected and the learner asked to provide strategies to support learning. Emotional barriers would require the learner to conduct a self-examination and emerge with potential solutions.

Health Education is critical to ensure the continued survival of the human species. It provides critical education that provides knowledge to humans that is critical to their continued existence.
