Interdisciplinary teamwork is a critical aspect of healthcare as well as to the care of patients. Healthcare teamwork involves the art of partnership and communication to expand the known responsibilities of physicians and make concrete decisions towards a common goal. Data from the Canadian health research reflect that team functionality is improved when it has a clear purpose and implements protocols and procedures. Other collaborations within the healthcare ae also manifested via meetings among other communications to discuss patient results, share info, and come up with suggestions for improving team performance (Mao, & Woolley, 2016). The essence of teamwork and collaboration is mainly for patient care in a decentralized health system with myriad health workers.
Suvillan et al. (2015) define interprofessional collaboration as integration of myriad physicians within the healthcare setting eliciting services with patients, caregivers, families, and communication to consider and communicate with ease on effective delivery aiming at maximum care. The RN (Registered Nurses) have an interprofessional collaboration that function. RN prepares nurses to lead a meaningful and ethical profession. Interprofessional collaboration has been manifested across all nurses within healthcare to deliver evidence-based medical care, among other patient-centered activities.
Nursing is taken as one of the professions that call for ethics and honesty, and RN advocate for high-quality patient care. According to Moss (2016), care of interprofessional collaboration among RN's helps protect, promote, and optimize health by curbing illness and improving diagnosis. However, there are still barriers to RN’s interprofessional collaboration via communication and differences in state regulations. One of the offered recommendations to overcome this issue is engaging other colleagues and having uniform state rules on RNs.
Compassion
Compassion and collaborative practice are variables that are directly proportional to quality health. The two variables form compassionate, collaborative care (CCC) that is beneficial to health, control the costs of health, and heighten the provision of care. For a long time, the CCC has been applied in the palliative care unit and end-of-life care setting. CCC has been termed as a fundamental value based on the hospice movement and within the palliative care unit. A CCC involves an approach in which interprofessional care providers are bound to the quality of care for patients, their families through the diagnosis, stages of disease, death, and remembrance (Pfaff & Markaki, 2017). Intuitively, compassion is a spiritual care sign and a implementor for upgrading existential endurance during end-of-life leading to a patient-centered approach.
Advocacy
Many nurses view advocacy as the most important role in inpatient care. It is important to note that an interprofessional team is required to achieve advocacy within the healthcare profession. It is important to include other professionals with whom patients interact an...
