Introduction
A persuasive speech is a kind of speech that specifically requires a speaker’s main goal to be convincing his audience to agree with his or her point of view. Most people engage in a persuasive speech mostly since it involves daily arguments like where to shop, what to eat and even politics. For speakers to enhance their persuasive power, they need to pay close attention to ethos, logos and pathos that are involved in persuasion. This paper is going to look at Barbra Jordan’s speech of impeachment paying close attention to her claims and how she supports them. It will also analyze whether the opposing side is mentioned or not and then it will focus on the method of argumentation used.
The purpose of Barbra's speech is to remind her colleagues on the House Judiciary Committee of the Constitutional basis for impeachment. She has to convince her colleagues that the president is guilty of playing part in the Watergate scandal. (Rogers, 2011).
