Application of critical thinking to college funding strategy
The problem at hand is the need for funds to finance my college education. Broken down, this will entail tuition fees, accommodation expenses as well as general upkeep for the duration that I will be undertaking my course. In today`s economy, the conventional way to raise funds is to seek some form of employment in exchange for remuneration in form of wages or a salary. Being a college student, the luxury of having the whole day to work is subtracted from my equation. It will be imperative that I give my academic work first priority. It will be rather unfortunate and ironical if I manage to raise the whole amount but fail to attend the very classes being paid for.
For this reason, my problem will require critical thinking if I am to have any hopes of effectively tackling it. The beauty of the critical thinking process is that it outlines a blueprint of steps to be taken when dealing with a problem. The critical thinking process follows the following steps. The first stage is the identification of the problem and gathering knowledge about it. The second step in the process is understanding the problem at hand and the circumstances surrounding it. The third step is analyzing the information at hand, sorting it out and prioritizing items in order of relevance and practicality.
