The best way to motivate me to work harder is by offering a reward of monetary value, such as earnings, benefits and allowances basically anything that would make my life easier as a person who works to live. However, some people may not be conveyed through this manner of motivation because of the difference in cultures and values. These cultures may include: First, while some people work in order to survive, others love working and not necessarily as a means for survival. Secondly, different countries view work differently. For example, a survey conducted showed that employees in Japan, the United Kingdom and Canada value work content, more than work context. Work context refers to the benefits that an employee acquires from work, such as, earnings and benefits. Work content on the other hand, refers to the specific work, achievement and responsibility (Steers, Sánchez-Runde & Nardon, 2010).
